It was named due to its sodium content and can also be found in the snows of Ontario Canada, Brazil, Africa, India and Namibia. It is a Feldspathoid which is a Silicate mineral and similar to that of a Lapiz Lazuli as they both share a deep blue color. Most commonly found as a blue color with white inclusions it can also be found in a variety of other different colors such as green, yellow, light red, lavendar, pink and grey.
